Product weight in customer view

Postby socalspeedshop » Wed Sep 16, 2009 8:11 am

Howdy all,

Does anyone one know how I may be able to hide the product weight to our customers? I'd like to be able to include the weight for our own reference and so that UPS can aggregate that information, but I don't want our customers to have the option to view it during their check out process. Any help will be very appreciated. :)

You rem out the text (or delete it) from the /skins/default/en/product_details.tpl. if you open the file in something like Dreamwaver where you can see both the code and the 'design' you can see the row with 'Weight'.

it will still calculate the weight for shipping purposes even if that is not showing (if you use a weight-based shipping method).

Oh! Ok, great! I did find that file earlier but I was afraid to delete the text without knowing the consequence. I'll try that now. Thanks for your help Jim. :D
