ShopZone Publishing on MoonSlice Servers

It is very important that you follow these steps in the exact order listed here to avoid uncorrectable problems.

New ShopZone installation  - Start at #1
Upgrading from 3 to 3.5 or 3.7 - Start at #3
ShopZone installed; you just need to publish - Start at #4

  1. Install the basic ShopZone 3 software
We can provide it for you if you don't have it.
  2. Be sure you have the latest ODBC driver for Microsoft VisualFoxPro
You probably have them installed if you have Microsoft Office installed, but If you are getting database or odbc errors when you open the web, you can automatically install it from: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates/odbc/default.aspx
  3. Install 3.5 or 3.7 files BEFORE you create any new store
Files for 3.5 license holders, click here
Files for 3.7 license holders, click here
  4. BEFORE you choose your ISP from the list ShopZone provides, you need to download the 2 moonSlice config files named
    moonSlice_SharedSSL.ini
    moonslice_YourOwnSSL.ini
Put these in your "ShopzonePro30/ISP database" subfolder (or ShopZone/ISP database folder for ShopZone2 users).
Do NOT use the moonslice ISP ini files that came with ShopZone. These are not configured properly.
  5. Web Properties settings: Go to FILE / Web Properties / ISP tab
Click "Select" next to "Internet Service provider" to choose your "ini" configurations.
If you are SHARING an SSL certificate on our servers, choose "moonSlice_SharedSSL.ini" from the ISP tab under web properties from inside ShopZone. If you have your OWN SSL certificate on our servers, choose "moonSlice_YourOwnSSL.ini" from the ISP tab under web properties from inside ShopZone.
    FTP Server Name:
    Shared certificate: enter "www.yourdomain.ext"
Your own SSL certificate: enter the name of your certificate; e.g.: www.yourdomain.ext (or "YourIP" prior to DNS pointing).
    User ID: yourusername
Subdirectory: add a subdirectory only if you want all your ShopZone files placed in a separate subdirectory of your site to keep them separate from non-ShopZone files you plan to upload.
    Domain Name: "www.yourdomain.ext"
  6. Read Tips, Tricks, & Shortcuts before building your website. A MUST for good quality look and function.
  7. Publish
  8. To view your site before your domain name points to our server: If you have not already changed the dns so that your domain name points to our server, you can view your store at:
    http://host.moonslice.com/cgibin/webc.cgi/~yourusername/st_main.html
  9. License Registration Requirements after you publish and view your site online you will be asked to activate your license. Follow the instructions below exactly for either "Shared SSL" or "Your own SSL" for what to enter under the URL's near the bottom of the license activation page.
    Shared SSL certificate:
  • remove any suggested url offered for you

  • put these in the first 3 of 5 offered fields
    http://yourdomain.ext
    http://www.yourdomain.ext
    https://secure.moonslice.com/~yourusername

If you do not have your domain name pointing to our nameservers yet, you will get a license activation error for the non-secure pages. Don't worry - it will go away when your domain name points to us. You can still test the site by ordering products, and once you get to the checkout, the error messages will go away. Just go to:
http://host.moonslice.com/cgibin/webc.cgi/~yourusername/st_main.html

Your own SSL certificate with your own IP:

  • remove any suggested url offered for you

  • put these in the first 3 of 5 offered fields
    http://yourdomain.ext
    http://www.yourdomain.ext
    https://www.yourdomain.ext

You may also want to put http://yourIP and https://yourIP so you can view your site prior to dns pointing.

  1. Have your domain point to our servers
If you are on a shared IP/shared SSL, then your site will not function until the dns nameservers for yourdomain.ext are changed to dns1.moonslice.com (64.71.141.109) and dns2.moonslice.com (64.71.169.17). Be sure to have us make the changes a couple of days before you want it to work. We can send you a special config.ini file that works specifically without the dns moving, but then you will have to replace it with the one provided here after the dns is moved. Call us and we can provide that for you if necessary.
